About Dr. Chris Park

Dr. Christopher A. (Chris) Park is a native of Mobile and attended St. Paul’s Episcopal School where he was Valedictorian and an acclaimed scholar athlete. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia as an Interdisciplinary Echols Scholar where he graduated after receiving numerous other awards including graduating “With Distinction.” He returned to Alabama for medical school at The University of Alabama School of Medicine at UAB where the accolades continued, including the Galbraith Award for Excellence in Surgery.  Dr. Park then moved to Winston-Salem where he trained at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in General Surgery and all aspects of Plastic Surgery including Reconstructive Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Pediatric Reconstruction, Hand Surgery, Microsurgery, and Endoscopic techniques under the leadership of Dr. Malcolm Marks, Dr. Louis Argenta, and Dr. Wayne Meredith. After his years of training as a resident and as Chief Resident, Dr. Park then advanced his education by traveling to learn from several of the leaders in Plastic Surgery, including Dr. Luis Vasconez, Dr. Bob Allen, and Dr. George Weston. He then returned to Wake Forest University School of Medicine and served as a Clinical Instructor educating plastic surgery residents and performing cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He is proud to be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He has given numerous academic presentations on multiple facets of plastic surgery in national academic, local interdisciplinary, and public arenas and is regarded as an expert in plastic surgery who stays abreast of the latest technologies in his field and applies them appropriately. Most recently, he has expanded the comprehensive breast reconstruction program at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to include all options for breast reconstruction, including Tissue Expander/Implant Reconstruction, TRAM (Transverse Rectus Abdominis Myocutaneous) Flaps, Latissimus Dorsi flaps, and microsurgical breast reconstruction (Free TRAM, DIEP [Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator], GAP [Gluteal Artery Perforator] flaps) and propelled the reconstruction of major defects due to cancer, trauma, and degeneration. 

His other major interests include skin cancer (Melanoma, Squamous Cell, Basal Cell, Mohs reconstruction), and the full breadth of cosmetic surgery including facial/brow/eyelid rejuvenation, cosmetic breast procedures (augmentation, reduction, lift), body contouring (abdominoplasty, thigh lift, liposuction, massive weight loss reconstruction), and minimally invasive techniques such as peels, lasers, fillers, Botox®, implants, and fat injections. 

Dr. Park has completed a book along with Dr. Malcolm Marks, the chairman at Wake Forest University, designed to educate patients on the experience of plastic surgery: the consultation, the operation, the postoperative routine, risks, and expectations.  The Artistry of Plastic Surgery: Exploring the Experience is copyrighted and pending publication in the near future.  Its content has been used as a guide for the procedure portions of this website.

Dr. Park’s two passions are plastic surgery and his family and he is now proud to bring his wife and daughter home to provide his services to the communities of the Gulf Coast as an integral part of the Mobile medical community. In opening his own clinic, The Park Clinic for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, PC and joining with Dr. Roberta Swain and Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery of Mobile, PC, creating Mobile Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Dermatology, Inc, the goals of Dr. Park and his staff are to provide world-class reconstructive and cosmetic care to his patients in a professional, informed, personal, safe, private, and comfortable environment.
