Traumatic injuries treated by Dr. Park includes hand injuries, facial injuries, and body/extremity reconstruction. Hand repairs include soft tissue injury repairs and reconstruction, fracture management, nerve injury repairs and grafts, tendon injury repairs, reconstruction, and transfers, and microsurgery including vascular repair, nerve repair, and replantation. Facial injury repairs include lacerations, soft tissue defects, fractures, foreign body removal, and nerve injuries. Other areas of the body are usually managed by other specialties, but Dr. Park often assists with reconstruction of difficult problems of the remainder of the body and extremities. He is particularly proficient in the reconstruction of defects of the extremities and the trunk, often working with orthopedic, general, vascular, and cardiac surgeons. Acute reconstruction is often performed for infection, trauma or postoperative problems
All of the descriptions for the various procedures are condensed from the text of the upcoming textbook written by Dr. Christopher Park and Dr. Malcolm Marks and are copyrighted, "The Artistry of Plastic Surgery: Exploring the Experience” . |
